The primary focus of the program (started in 2018) is to support ABA affiliated clubs who hold a bowhunter themed shoot or have a Hunter class in their club shoots. We want to promote the fun and family friendly atmosphere that so many of the 3D shoots in Alberta offer.  We also want to stress the need to make sound field choices based on distance and shot placement when bowhunting.

In effect, a club affiliates with the ABA for a $25 annual fee and if they hold one of these shoots, we send them a cheque for $200 – which results in a net profit of $175.  This donation from the ABA is to be used to supply prizes to that particular shoot ($75 towards youth prizes) and the ABA is recognized as a sponsor/donor etc.

We ask each affiliated club to contact the ABA 3D Chairperson Kris ([email protected]) to advise us of their particular shoot and send any poster/shoot info that will then be put on the ABA website, Facebook and Instagram pages.

Only one club shoot submission per year; shoot can be indoor or outdoor.

Any ABA member who attends an affiliated club’s bowhunter themed shoot will have their name automatically entered in a draw for a $500 Gift Certificate to the archery shop of the winner’s choice. The more shoots the member attends, the more entries they will get – 1 entry per affiliate club shoot attended.  Each club will supply the ABA with a list of people who attended their shoot, and we will confirm who was a current ABA member.   This draw will take place at the annual ABA banquet.
